Welcome to The Garlic Hussy food blog!
Thanks for stopping in! You’ve web-stumbled into The Garlic Hussy, the place for all things bold and delicious. Here at Garlic Hussy, under-seasoning is a cardinal sin. Food should be sassy, it should be fun, and it should not take itself too seriously.
A key part of healthy eating is variety, and I love trying new foods (or making familiar foods in new ways), so you’ll see range of cuisines here at GH Headquarters; everything from gluten-free recipes, to vegan and vegetarian recipes, plus global foods inspired by Indian recipes, Asian recipes (like these Asian Lettuce Wraps), and Vietnemese recipes (Like this Spicy Vegan Pho). I have a deep abiding love for beans, bread, and pasta. I’ve never met a carb I didn’t like, and you’ll see lots of meatless dishes (we’re winning hard at Meatless Monday recipes).
While I try to make most of the food I put in my face healthy, you will see more indulgent recipes on the site as well [see this Vegan Lemon Raspberry Cake ? Yum.] There will be salads next to cupcakes. There will be herbal tea and cocktails. It’s called balance.
I’m elated you stopped by my little corner of the web, and I hope I’ve inspired you to cook boldly in your own kitchen.
A little about me:
I’m not a nutritionist, just a card-carrying nutrition geek. I LOVE food science, and a couple years ago I got the idea to start a food blog during a period of
depression and existential crisis personal growth. Food heals the soul, and apparently so does quitting your job photographing it. With background in web and design and my love for making and sharing good food, it seemed natural to combine my technical skills and my interest in nutrition.
Stuff I enjoy: cycling, hiking, reading, hanging out on the couch with Sophie & Sol, volunteering, and of course, cooking/snacking.
Thanks for visiting!
